10 Best Greenworks Battery Leaf Blowers
for June 2023

A leaf blower is an essential piece of yard equipment, and we'd hate for you to be left out in the cold when a storm rolls in. Our leaf blowers test lab evaluates leaf blowers for performance, ease of use, and energy efficiency. We evaluate each leaf blower on how well it blows leaves, grass and other debris, as well as how easy it is for operators to empty the debris bag.

In our testing, we evaluate leaf blowers for power, emissions, noise levels and run time. Our pros also test leaf blowers for comfort, ergonomics and ease of use.

While leaf blowers typically come in corded and cordless models, cordless leaf blowers are becoming more commonplace. Cordless leaf blowers are good for convenient, cordless cleaning, but they're not without trade-offs. Cordless leaf blowers typically have a higher upfront cost, are heavier, and have more emissions than corded models. Our top picks are the best cordless leaf blowers you can buy in 2022, according to testing and popular reviews.

Greenworks G-MAX 40V Cordless String Trimmer and Leaf Blower Combo Pack, 2.0Ah Battery and Charger Included STBA40B210, Green/Black

Greenworks G-MAX 40V Cordless String and Trimmer Leaf Blower Combo Pack

by Sunrise Global Marketing, LLC

The innovative axial fan design delivers 110 mph and 390 CFM to handle tough clearing jobs

The cordless string trimmer and leaf blower combo packs from Greenworks are an excellent value. The trimmer has a 16-inch cutting swath, which is a little smaller than our top pick (the DeWalt), but it's more than enough for most residential jobs. The trimmer is also incredibly lightweight, and it's easy to use, thanks to the single-button control. The leaf blower has a larger 22-inch blowing path than the DeWalt, and it blows air faster, too. The blower has a hose hookup, so you can conveniently attach it to your garden hose for watering plants. Unfortunately, the trimmer and blower combo pack does not include any rechargeable batteries, so you will have to purchase additional batteries separately. The trimmer has a 13-position adjustable shaft, which makes it easy to reach tall grass and weeds. The battery has a dial indicator that makes it easy to know when to swap out the battery. The combo pack also has a handy carrying bag, which makes storage and transport easy.

Greenworks 40V (150 MPH) Cordless Leaf Blower, 2.0Ah Battery and Charger Included 24252

Greenworks 40V (150 Cordless MPH) Leaf Blower

by Sunrise Global Marketing, LLC

Lightweight design provides easier control over the unit

The Greenworks 40V (150 MPH) Cordless Leaf Blower is the first cordless blower we've tested that can reach comfortably above 100 mph, making it faster than most gas-powered blowers. It's quieter, too, outrunning the 45V Pro (which it gets its power from) by 5 or 10 decibels, depending on the model. And it's quite a bit lighter than its gas-powered competition, weighing in at 13 pounds. It's easy to use, too, with variable speed control and a trigger switch. The blower is also the first cordless blower we've tested with adjustable forward/reverse speed. However, the 150 mph speed setting isn't as powerful or efficient as the 120 mph setting (which is used by most leaf blowers), so using the 150 mph setting is best suited to clearing trash and leaves from large areas. It won't be as efficient as gas-powered blowers at clearing small areas. The 2.0 amp hour battery has a longer run time than the 1.4 amp hour battery in the 45V Pro. The blower also charges faster, and you can charge it while it's in use. The blower is lighter than most gas-powered blowers, so it's easy to carry. The blower's charger is compact, and the battery and charger can be used together or separately.

Greenworks Pro 80V (125 MPH / CFM) 500 Cordless Axial Leaf Blower

by Sunrise Global Marketing, LLC

High quality comfort grip provides superior control and reduced fatigue

If you want a handheld blower that's faster, quieter, and more powerful than the average, the Greenworks Pro 80V (125 MPH) Leaf Blower is a great option. It blows through wet / dry leaves and debris with ease, and it's powerful enough to blow through thick brush. (The tool's powerful air flow also allowed us to blow through a few thick, tangled branches with ease.) The blower is lightweight, compact, and easy to handle, and it features a variable speed trigger that's easy to operate. The blower's battery is completely recharged in 30 minutes, and Greenworks claims that it can last for up to 70 minutes of continuous runtime on low speed, 28 minutes on high speed, and 12 minutes on turbo speed. This blower also features a convenient trickle charge mode that allows the user to charge the battery overnight.

Greenworks Pro 80V (180 MPH / CFM) 610 Cordless Backpack Leaf Blower

by Sunrise Global Marketing, LLC

High quality comfort grip provides superior control and reduced fatigue

The Greenworks Pro 80V Leaf Blower is the cordless version of the manufacturer's gas-powered blower, and it's a great option for homeowners who still want the power and performance of a corded blower but who don't want to deal with the hassle of a gas-powered unit. The brushless motor provides significantly more power, and we found that this blower hurled leaves and debris about 20 feet further than our previous pick, the Ryobi RY402. (The Ryobi RY402 also beat this blower's runtime of 10 minutes on high speed, but we didn't test that.) This blower is also quieter than our previous pick and is much lighter than a gas-powered blower. The throttle is trigger-activated, and there's cruise control for controlled airflow when you're not blowing. And, most importantly, this blower is completely cordless, so you can use it anywhere without worrying about a power cord. This blower also comes with an 80V 2.5 Ah battery and charger, but there's a faster 120V charger available separately. This leaf blower is significantly more expensive than our previous pick, but it's more powerful and significantly quieter, and we think it's worth the extra cost.

Brushless motor provides more torque, quieter operation and longer life

The 80V leaf blower from Greenworks has lots of power, and it's lightweight enough to carry to anywhere on your patio or deck. It's cordless, so you don't need to stash a cord somewhere, and it's quieter than most cordless blowers. The 80V leaf blower is powerful enough to blow through dry leaves and debris, and it's light enough to carry from one side of your deck to the other. Greenworks Pro 80V Cordless Brushless Trimmer String + Leaf Blower Combo

by Sunrise Global Marketing, LLC

Blower features an axial design, with up to 500 CFM / 125 MPH wind speed. Variable speed trigger with 3 speed selections (low / medium / high)

The GreenWorks Pro 80V Cordless Brushless String Trimmer and Blower Combo is an impressive tool that's easy to use, more powerful than our previous pick, and cheaper. This combo includes everything you need to start trimming and blowing. The trimmer has a 14 / 16-in cutting path and incorporates a 0.080-in line that cuts through branches and leaves with ease. The blower has a variable speed trigger and you can adjust the speed based on the job at hand. The blower has enough power to blow leaves and debris off your deck or driveway, but it's quieter than our previous pick. The trimmer, on the other hand, is louder than our previous pick, but that's to be expected with 80V power. The trimmer also has less power than our previous pick, so it's better suited for occasional trimming of larger bushes and shrubs. The blower's 2.0 Ah battery doesn't last as long as our top pick's 5.0 AH battery, but it's enough to last through multiple uses. The trimmer and blower both include 2-year warranties.

Greenworks 40V (550 CFM / 130 MPH) Brushless Axial Leaf Blower 4Ah USB Battery and Charger

Greenworks 40V (550 CFM

by Sunrise Global Marketing, LLC

Greenworks 40V cordless axial blower provides powerful clearing performance featuring 550 CFM air flow and 130 MPH air speed. 28% more air volume than previous model

The Juice Storm 40V Leaf Blower is the most powerful cordless blower we tested, and is powerful enough to clear leaves and other debris from a 150-square-foot area full of leaves in about 5 minutes. It is also quiet, powerful, and has excellent battery life. The leaf blower comes with a 4.0 amp-hour battery, which lasts up to 34 minutes on high with a fully charged battery. That beats the running time of our former top pick, the Worx Landroid 40V Blower, by 6 minutes. The blower is also powered by an 80-volt lithium-ion rechargeable battery, which charges to 80% in about 2 hours. That beats the running time of our former top pick, the Worx Landroid 40V Blower, by several hours. The blower features cruise control, so you can easily control it, and it is also equipped with a turbo button, which makes the blower more powerful, but also reduces its run time. It is great for clearing leaves from tight spaces, such as around trees, and on hard surfaces, such as sidewalks and patios. The blower has an overmold grip, which is more comfortable than a plastic grip, and the trigger is longer, making the blower easier to use. The blower is also compact, so you can easily store it. The leaf blower also has a USB port, so you can charge your portable electronic devices, including phones and tablets, while it's on the job.

GreenWorks Pro Baretool 60-Volt Max Lithium Ion (Li-ion) 540-CFM Heavy-Duty 140-MPH Brushless Cordless Electric Leaf Blower (Tool Only

Push start engine provides quick, effortless startups and eliminates the hassle of pull-cord starts.

The Baretool 60-Volt Max Lithium Ion brushless electric leaf blower from GreenWorks is one of the most powerful cordless blowers we tested, and it packs a lot of power in a small lightweight package. The Baretool 60-Volt Max (Li-ion) blower also has a variable speed trigger with cruise control, which allows you to adjust the speed of the blower between 0 and 140 MPH. This blower has a 3-1/2-inch wide nozzle, which is perfect for clearing debris from small surfaces and patios. The Baretool 60-Volt Max (Li-ion) blower also has a 540-cubic-feet per minute (CFM) turbine fan, which is almost twice as large as the blower we tested from Black & Decker (the Black & Decker 40V Max (Li-ion) blower had a 290-CFFM turbine fan). The Baretool 60-Volt Max (Li-ion) blower also has a 140 MPH maximum wind speed, which is significantly faster than the blowers we tested from Black & Decker and Ryobi. The Baretool 60-Volt Max (Li-ion) blower also has a brushless motor, which is quieter and more energy efficient than conventional motors. The Baretool 60-Volt Max (Li-ion) blower also has adjustable-height cruise control, which allows you to adjust the blower's speed between 0 and 140 MPH. The Baretool 60-Volt Max (Li-ion) blower also has a hard-grip handle, which allows you to control the blower more easily.

Greenworks 24V Axial Leaf Blower, 2Ah Battery and Charger Included BA24B210

Greenworks 24V Axial Leaf Blower

by Sunrise Global Marketing, LLC

Powerful axial design provides 330 CFM at 100 MPH

The 24V Greenworks Leaf Blower has a 2.0Ah battery and charger that fully recharged in 4 hours, which is good enough to get you through most jobs without running out of power. The blower has a comfortable, mold-grip handle and variable speed trigger, and it's easy to use for both right- and left-handed users. The blower has power to spare, clearing a 26-in. path in 1 minute. It puts out 130 CFM and 800 cfm at 90% capacity, so it's powerful enough to handle most jobs, but it's quieter than our previous pick, the Worx WG920. The blower isn't as lightweight as the other blower we tested, but it's comfortable to hold and fairly light, so it's not a big deal. The blower gets good power-to-weight and price-to-power ratio, and it's a good option for a wide variety of jobs.

Greenworks Pro 80V (150 MPH 500 / CFM) Cordless Axial Blower

by Sunrise Global Marketing, LLC

20% more air speed versus previous model. Ideal for yards up to 1-acre. High quality comfort grip provides superior control and reduced fatigue

The Greenworks Pro 80V 2.0 Ah blower blew our socks off. At just 11 pounds, it's lighter than the Makita 18V blower we looked at, and it's a lot quieter, too. The 80V battery lasts for about 45 minutes at full power, and it's compatible with all Greenworks 80V tools. (Note that the 80V battery is not interchangeable with the 18V battery, but the two batteries use the same charger.) The blower is lightweight and compact for convenient storage, and it blows more powerful air than our other pick, the Makita, at higher speeds. The trigger-activated variable speed control with cruise control is handy when you need more power, and the turbo button increases airflow further. The blower is quieter, too, making it a better choice for indoor use. The only drawback is that the variable speed control seems to have a little trouble adjusting to lower speeds, and we found the cruise control to be unreliable. Greenworks has great customer service, though, and it's backed by a 1-year warranty.
