We also tested the 7400mAh battery, which HP advertises as lasting up to 6 hours. This battery lasted 4 hours, 55 minutes, which is almost an hour less than HP's advertised battery, and about 1 hour longer than the 5100mAh battery. The 7400mAh battery also didn't last as long as advertised. We're not sure why HP's 5200mAh 6-cell battery is so short, but it's disappointing that HP's 7400mAh battery didn't live up to HP's advertised battery specifications.

The 45W AC adapter for HP notebooks is a decent enough charger for most laptops, but it's a little on the short side. It charged our test laptop fully in about 8 hours, and it's powerful enough to charge most HP laptops from a dead battery.
