The MSI GP66 is a pricey gaming laptop, but it's well built and provides decent performance for gaming as well as everyday use. Its 1080p screen is bright and colorful, and games look crisp, although the wide viewing angle isn't quite as good. The laptop's keyboard is spacious and comfortable, and it features backlit keys, a numeric keypad, and function keys. Its trackpad is also large and a pleasure to use. The GP66's graphics card, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070, is more powerful than the one in our former top pick, the MSI GS65 Stealth 8G, but it's a bit less powerful than our current top pick, the Alienware 13. The GP66 also has less storage (1TB compared with 2TB in the GS65) and no solid-state drive (SSD), but at $1,199, its price isn't much higher than the GS65's. The GP66 also has more ports and slots than most laptops: 4 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, 1 USB-C port, 1 full-size DisplayPort, 1 Thunderbolt 3 port, 1 HDMI port, 2 headphone jacks, and 1 microphone/headphone jack. The laptop's high-wattage power adapter is a little bulky, and its battery isn't removable, but it's solid enough, and the laptop lasts more than 8 hours on a charge. The laptop also has 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2.

The MSI Crosshair 17 (X370 Gaming Pro Carbon AC) is the most powerful gaming laptop we've ever tested. It's also big and heavy, and is a bit more expensive than many of the alternatives we considered. But if you just want the best gaming laptop money can buy, the MSI Crosshair 17 (X370 Gaming Pro Carbon AC) is the laptop to buy. It was the fastest gaming laptop we've ever tested, with no lag, stutter, or dropped frames during gameplay. Its large 17.3-inch display is perfect for 4K gaming, and it offers the best color accuracy, brightness, and contrast of any gaming laptop we've ever tested. The MSI Crosshair 17 (X370 Gaming Pro Carbon AC) is thick, though, and it's big and heavy, and it requires its own separate power cord. It's a hassle, but it's a small price to pay for the performance of this powerful, high-end laptop.

High-Speed Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi 6 features 802.11ax standards and 3x faster than Wi-Fi 5, designed to deliver lightning fast gameplay

The MSI GF65 is the company's latest gaming laptop, and it's the best, most compact model of its type that we found. It has a thin, light, and relatively compact form factor, yet it's packed with a lot of power (including an Intel Core i7 processor), and it has a 15.6-inch display with 144Hz refresh rate, making it great for playing virtual reality games. The included keyboard and mouse are solid, but we wish it had a numpad, and we wish the webcam was better. The 15.6-inch display has a resolution of 1920x1080, which is standard for gaming laptops, but it's an IPS display, which delivers better viewing angles, and it's covered by a Gorilla Glass 3 layer. The GF65's battery life is decent, but it's shorter than what we'd like. It lasts about 8 hours on a charge, which is a little shorter than most laptops, and it's bad at running Windows Mixed Reality apps. The laptop runs cool and quiet, and it weighs 4.63 pounds, which is lighter than most gaming laptops, which are often heavier than 5 pounds.

Equipped With The Most Powerful and Fast 10th Gen Intel Hexa-Core i5-10500H (Base Clock 2.5GHz, Max Boost Clock Up to 4.5GHz, 12MB Smart Cache, 12 Threads)

The MSI GF65 Thin is the most powerful gaming laptop in our test group, and it's the only laptop in our group that features a hexa-core processor (the other laptops are quad). MSI's engineers went all-out with this laptop, putting in a hexa-core processor, a 144Hz display, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card. The MSI GF65 Thin's performance is impressive, but it's not without its drawbacks. The laptop is heavy (5.5 pounds), and its display is just as heavy (5 pounds). The display is also larger than we would have liked, and the speakers are mediocre. The laptop's battery life is also a bit disappointing, and at $2,399, its price tag is also a bit high. On the plus side, the MSI GF65 Thin has a robust selection of ports, including four USB-A 3.2 ports, two USB-C 3.2 ports (one with Thunderbolt 3), one HDMI 2.0b port, one Ethernet jack, one headset jack, one microphone jack, and one SD card slot. The laptop's keyboard and trackpad are large and comfortable, and the laptop's speakers are loud. The keyboard also has an excellent backlighting, which makes it easy to use in the dark. The laptop's storage is generous as well, with 1TB of SSD storage and a 1TB hard drive.

The MSI GF75 Thin Gaming Laptop is an impressive machine, packing powerful components into a thin, light package. Its 17.3-inch, 1080p display is one of the best we've seen on a laptop, and MSI's adaptive sync technology ensures buttery-smooth gameplay no matter what game you're playing. The GF75 Thin is also one of the lightest gaming laptops we've tested, making it perfect for traveling. Its GTX 1650, a midrange graphics card, is more than powerful enough to run most games in fullscreen at medium settings, and the base model comes with 8GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive, which is more than most budget laptops offer. MSI's keyboard and trackpad are among the best around, and Turbo Key is a handy feature that lets you quickly overclock the processor and graphics card to boost performance.
