YESWELDER Large Viewing Screen 3.94"X3.66" True Solar Color Power Auto Darkening Welding Helmet

by Jingsu Mexin Optoelectronics Technology Co.Ltd

Superior comfort with the pivot style headgear

The Yeswelder M800H is a well-built, heavy-duty welding helmet. It has four sensors that deliver a wide 4~5/9-9/13 arc shade range, which we found just right for most of our welding tasks. The helmet also has a sharp, bright screen, and it has a 270-degree field of view, so you can easily see what you're doing. The lens is anti-fog, and the helmet is comfortable to wear. The helmet is easy to set up, and it comes with several useful accessories, including spare lenses, a carry case, and an extra strap. The Yeswelder M800H has a well-designed, easy-to-read display, and it's easy to use. The helmet also has a charge indicator, so you can tell when it's fully charged. Yeswelder offers a three-year warranty, which is good, but it's on the short side. We recommend this helmet to professional welders, but it's a little too expensive for hobbyists.

YESWELDER Large Viewing True Color Solar Powered Auto Darkening Welding Helmet with SIDE VIEW, 4 Arc Sensor Wide Shade 4/5-9/9-13 Welder Mask for TIG MIG ARC Grinding Plasma LYG-Q800D

YESWELDER Large Viewing True Color Solar Powered Darkening Auto Welding Helmet with SIDE VIEW

by Jingsu Mexin Optoelectronics Technology Co.Ltd

Superior comfort with the pivot style headgear

The YESWELDER Q800D 4/5-9/9-13 Welder Mask with SIDE VIEW is a well-made, feature-rich auto-darkening mask for TIG MIG ARC cutting and grinding applications. We liked that it's sturdy and has an adjustable chin strap, but it's bulky and heavy for a mask this size. It has a large viewing area, but its field of vision is more limited than with some competitors, and its auto-darkening feature is not as quick to react. The side view feature works well, though, and the lens covers a large area, so it should give a good view of your work. For the price tag, the Q800D is decent, but it's a bit on the expensive side.

Hobart 770890 Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet

Hobart 770890 Welding Auto-Darkening Helmet

by Hobart Welding Products

Four independent arc sensors provides dependable arc detection

The Hobart 770890 Auto-darkening welding helmet is comfortable to wear, and its wide viewing area makes it easier to see your work. It works well on contact, arc, and TIG welds, and it offers plenty of adjustment, including for shade. There are, however, some limitations: It's a bit pricey, and it has a very short battery life. The shade selector is on the bottom of the helmet, so you have to tilt your head down to use it, and the position of the shade selector is awkward. The battery life is about 2.5 hours of continuous use. Also, there isn't a built-in light. As a result, this helmet isn't suitable for outdoor welding, and it's better suited for indoor welding. So, if you're just welding on an occasional job, this helmet could be a good choice. However, if you often weld outdoors or frequently weld in poorly lit areas, the Hobart 770890 Auto-darkening welding helmet may not be the best option for you.

Lincoln Electric Viking 1840 Black Welding Helmet - Auto Darkening - 4C Lens Technology - K3023-3

Lincoln Electric Viking Black 1840 Welding Helmet

by Lincoln Electric

Superior Comfort Lightweight 18 oz design features easily adjustable 4-point pivot headgear to distribute weight and reduce pressure for all day comfort

The Lincoln Electric Viking 1840 is a very capable welding helmet, offering great visibility when dark, clear sight lines when light, and a comfortable design. Its auto-darkening feature was easy to use, and 4C lens technology provided sharp, true-color views of the setting material, arc, and puddle. The only drawback is the company's poor customer service, and by that we don't just mean how long it takes to get a response. Rather than responding with a detailed explanation, Lincoln Electric simply sends you a link to a YouTube video, which spells out most of the information you want. They also seem reluctant to provide technical specifications, and if you're buying a welding helmet, you probably want to know its magnification factor.
