We've tested over 60 winter work gloves to find the top 10 that will keep your digits warm, protected, and comfortable. (We're talking cold hands after spending 20 minutes shoveling snow.) When your hands are freezing from outdoor work, you need winter work gloves that will keep the warmth in. Our extensive testing covered a variety of work gloves, including leather work gloves, leather work gloves for women, insulation work gloves, insulated work gloves, and lightweight work gloves. We've also examined the various styles of gloves, from insulated mitts to waterproof gloves, to help you pick out the best winter work gloves for your needs and budget.

Our tests included looking at glove insulation, weights, and sizes. Most importantly, however, we inquired whether the gloves work for real-life tasks. So, after testing, we narrowed down the field to 10 favorites, all with standout features. We have evaluated each product on its own merit, so you can feel confident in your purchase decision. From durability and warmth to versatility and price, we even considered the opinions of work glove experts.

Vgo 5-Pairs Freezer Winter Work Gloves, Double Lining Rubber Latex Coated for Outdoor Heavy Duty Work (Size L, Black, RB6032)

Vgo... Vgo 5-Pairs Winter Freezer Work Gloves

by Laborsing Safety Products Inc.

The laminated polyester seamless thicker liner provides hands the comfort and keeps warm from a cold condition

These work gloves are just what the doctor ordered for cold-weather work. The thick foam latex coating is warm, flexible and doesn't slip, which is especially important if you're constantly working outdoors in wet conditions. The wrist design provides extra comfort, and these gloves are certified to meet REACH standards, so they're safe. The gloves are also machine washable, making them easy to clean. The gloves are thick enough to provide good insulation against cold, and the extra layers of latex also absorb sweat, making them comfortable to wear in warmer conditions as well. The gloves are a little long, so they're a little difficult to put on, but you can easily roll them up and store them in your pocket once they're on. The gloves are a little difficult to fold for storage, but they'll fit easily in a small cargo pocket or backpack.

Men's FX3 Extreme Dexterity Blue Winter Work Gloves, Large (Wells Lamont 7794)

Wells Lamont Men's FX3 Extreme Blue Dexterity Winter Work Gloves

by Wells Lamont

WATER-RESISTANT SYNTHETIC PALM - Synthetic leather palm provides excellent abrasion, puncture and tear resistance

The gloves don't come with a suede palm patch, as pictured, but they do provide a fair amount of grip. The palms are reinforced with synthetic leather, which gives them a sturdier feel, and reinforced fingers give them more durability. The gloves aren't as warm as our previous pick, the Ansell 71-840, which also has a suede palm patch, but they provide enough warmth for most winter conditions. The gloves run slightly large, so we recommend sizing down one size, and they also have a slightly stiff feel. The gloves don't have much padding, and they feel thin, but the thinness is an advantage when you use them for touchscreen activities. The gloves have an adjustable wrist closure, so they're easy to put on and take off. The gloves have an adjustable wrist closure, so they're easy to put on and take off. The gloves are decently waterproof, so you won't have to worry about getting them wet, but they're not totally waterproof, so some light rain may sneak in.

Men's Heavy Duty Leather Winter Work Gloves with Thinsulate Insulation (Wells Lamont 5127XL), Palomino with Black Back, X-Large

Men's Heavy Duty Leather Winter Work with Gloves Thinsulate Insulation (Wells Lamont 5127XL)

by Wells Lamont Gloves

COMFORTABLE FIT: Fleece-lined, Gunn cut and winged thumb provide comfy, flexible fit

The Lamont 5127XL Men's Heavy Duty Leather Winter Work Gloves with Thinsulate Insulation are our favorite winter work gloves because they're made of thick, tough, and abrasion-resistant pigskin leather, and they offer plenty of insulation, with a 100-gram 3M Thinsulate liner. The gloves also have an extra-long knit wrist, which seals out cold elements so your hands stay warm. The gloves' thick leather construction makes them less comfortable than some of the other winter gloves we tested, but they're also very heavy-duty and well suited to hard manual labor, such as shoveling snow. The Lamont 5127XL Men's Heavy Duty Leather Winter Work Gloves with Thinsulate Insulation have a tight fit, so some people (like us) may find them a bit restrictive. They're also a bit pricier than some models we tested, but they're worth the extra expense if your hands are always cold and in need of extra warmth.

OriStout Winter Work Gloves Waterproof for Men and Women, Freezer Gloves for Work Below Zero, Thermal Insulated, Super Grip, Orange, Small

OriStout Winter Work Gloves for Waterproof Men and Women

Highly Versatile - Ideal for work outside in a cold climate or inside a refrigerated warehouse. Suitable for cold storage facility, utilities, agriculture, fishing, construction, outdoor winter activities and recreation.

The OriStout Winter Work Gloves are well-constructed, waterproof gloves that are good for winter work. The gloves' main selling point is their waterproof, windproof design, which keeps them dry and comfortable in cold weather. The gloves' latex coating is also highly grippy, making work tasks like handling scrap metal and other cold-weather tasks much easier. The gloves also have double coating palm and fingers, so they remain highly dexterity, so you can still feel things with your fingers when viewing items with your fingertips. The gloves' thermal insulated design keeps your hands warm, so they are comfortable all day. The gloves' inner polyester brushed liner also keeps your hands warm, and the outer polyester shell helps wick moisture away from your hands, so your hands stay dry. The gloves' small fit makes it difficult to get the gloves on, and the small fit also means the gloves aren't particularly warm. But, for moderate cold-weather work, the gloves are a good choice.

FX3 Men's Extreme Dexterity Extra Wear Winter Work Gloves, Extra Large (Wells Lamont 7796)

Wells Lamont FX3 Men's Extreme Extra Dexterity Wear Winter Work Gloves

by Wells Lamont

WATER-RESISTANT SYNTHETIC PALM - Synthetic leather palm provides excellent abrasion, puncture and tear resistance

The FX3 Men's Extreme Dexterity Extra Wear Winter Work Gloves are the warmest, most comfortable gloves we tested. They're thick, warm, and breathable, with reinforced leather palms, and textured fingertips for touchscreen controls. They're also water-resistant, with 3M Thinsulate insulation, and, thanks to their extra wide design, they're extra comfortable. These gloves are cut a little bit wider than most, so they're not as snug as the medium or small sizes, but they're more than big enough to fit over bulky work boots. They're only recommended for light duty work, because the thicker material makes them less flexible, and they're not as durable as some of the other gloves we tested.
