by YAMAHA

One-button auto tuning: analyzes room environment and automatically tunes acoustic settings to the optimal level

The Yamaha YVC-1000 is our favorite indoor speaker phone for conference calls. Its audio quality is among the best we've experienced, and it's easy to set up and use. The YVC-1000 uses Yamaha's own voice activity detection (VAD) technology, which filters out background noise during calls so your voice comes through loud and clear. It's also easy to connect multiple YVC-1000s, and it supports daisy chaining up to five microphones so you can connect multiple people or multiple rooms. The YVC-1000's audio quality is also excellent, and it supports multiple connection options. For example, you can connect it via Bluetooth and USB, so you can use it with your phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer. The YVC-1000 is also portable and compact, and you can easily carry it in a backpack or messenger bag.

Yamaha NS-AW294BL Indoor/Outdoor 2-Way Speakers (Black,2)

Yamaha Audio Yamaha NS-AW294BL 2-Way Indoor/Outdoor Speakers (Black

by YAMAHA

Powder-coated grilles provide outstanding weatherproof properties

The Yamaha NS-AW294BL is a sturdy, compact 2-way speaker that sounds great for its size and price range. The speaker has a solid, high-quality feel to it and is built to last. The speaker's casing is weather-resistant and UV resistant, and its rubber-coated grille is durable as well. The speaker's 90-degree swivel mounting system allows you to mount it on two surfaces, and its adjustable mounting brackets let you position the speaker wherever you want it. The speaker's simple design, which includes a grille that blends in well with home exteriors, makes it a popular choice for outdoor speakers. The speaker's 2.5-inch woofer is powered with 75 watts of power, and its 1-inch dome tweeter delivers clear, detailed highs. The speaker's 70W 4-channel amplifier provides plenty of power and clarity. The speaker's bass output is powerful enough to fill a room with sound, and its deep, tight mids and lows are well balanced. The speaker has a wide frequency range, making it suitable for use in a variety of environments, and its timbre is natural-sounding. The speaker's remote controlled 3-band EQ lets you adjust the speaker's bass, mids and highs, and the speaker's DC power port lets you run the speaker with an external amplifier, should you choose to do so.

Yamaha NS-AW294WH Indoor/Outdoor 2-Way Speakers (White,2)

Yamaha Audio Yamaha NS-AW294WH 2-Way Indoor/Outdoor Speakers (White

by YAMAHA

Powder coated grilles provide outstanding weatherproof properties

The Yamaha NS-AW294WH speakers are well-built speakers with surprisingly accurate sound and good bass response for outdoor use. The speaker's versatility is its main selling point: You can mount them indoors or out, use the speaker as a ceiling mount, or use it as a wall-mount design. But the speaker's performance doesn't live up to its versatility. The speakers have a frequency response of 75 Hz to 20 kHz, which is a bit on the low side for outdoor speakers, and they don't reproduce sound as clearly or loudly as outdoor speakers that cost much less. The speakers are loud, but they're not very powerful, and they produce thin, tinny sound. The speakers also have an obnoxiously loud, high-pitched whine that can be heard even at low volumes. The speakers' mounting brackets are well built, but they attach only to the back of the speaker, and the system's 3.5 millimeter audio jacks are located on the speaker's back, not its front, so they're hard to use. Also, the speakers' ports aren't sealed, so dust can accumulate inside, and the speakers aren't remotely dustproof. The speaker's low-frequency response is so strong that you'll probably have to use speaker stands or wall brackets, which add to the speaker's bulk.

Yamaha NS-AW150BL 2-Way Indoor/Outdoor Speakers (Pair, Black) - Wired

Yamaha Audio Yamaha NS-AW150BL Indoor/Outdoor 2-Way Speakers (Pair, Black)

by YAMAHA

Acoustic suspension design for clear sound and taut, controlled bass response. 120 watts maximum power capacity, 35 watts nominal

The NS-AW150BL speaker pair from Yamaha is a good choice for anyone who wants to upgrade their living room or patio, but doesn't want to spend a lot of money. The sound quality is quite nice, with warm, clear mids and highs. The speakers are relatively lightweight, so even if you're hanging them high on the wall, they won't easily sag. They're also fairly loud for a pair of indoor/outdoor speakers, and they're not as deep as some of the other models we tested, so they're less likely to take up too much space. The speaker pair is versatile, too; we used them outdoors on a covered patio, and they worked great. They're also suitable as indoor speakers, and they would work well in a kitchen or bedroom. Overall, the NS-AW150BL speaker pair is a good choice for anyone looking for a good indoor/outdoor speaker pair.

Yamaha NS-AW150W 2-Way Indoor/Outdoor Speakers (Pair, White)

Acoustic suspension design for clear sound and taut, controlled bass response

If you're looking for a pair of speakers that can stand up to the elements, the Yamaha 2-Way NS-AW150W is an excellent choice. These speakers are rain, snow, and sleet proof, and while not submersible, they are designed to weather light abuse from the elements, and should that abuse include being left out in the rain, the speakers should last for years. The mica-filled tweeters deliver smooth, clear highs, and the 5-inch woofers are the perfect size for placement on or inside an enclosure. The 2-way design means these speakers produce excellent sound in both stereo and 5.1 channel configurations, and the speakers take up relatively little space in the enclosure. The controls are simple to navigate, and the speakers operate as one would expect. The only problem we encountered was when connecting the speakers to an outdoor amplifier. The speakers have an extra long cable, but an outdoor amplifier is only capable of receiving signals up to 100 feet, so the speakers are too far from the amplifier and were sounding weak. Our advice: Place the speaker in a sheltered outdoor area, and connect them to an outdoor amplifier or receiver.

Yamaha Audio Yamaha NS-AW350W Indoor/Outdoor All-Weather 2-Way Speakers

by YAMAHA

Acoustic suspension design for clear sound and taut, controlled bass response

The Yamaha NS-AW350W is an attractive, well-built set of compact outdoor speakers. It's encased in a weatherproof metal housing, and has 6.5-inch PEI dome tweeters (the woofers are 6.5 inches). The frequency range is 55Hz-40kHz, and the speakers have a combined max output of 130W. The low-profile design allows them to fit easily on patios or balconies. The speakers are magnetically shielded, and can withstand water spray from a garden hose. The sound quality is decent but not great. The sound quality is decent but not great. The speakers are surprisingly loud for their size, but the highs are marred by some distortion, and the bass quality is unimpressive. However, if you're on a tight budget, these are the best budget outdoor speakers that we've tested, and the worst-performing speakers in our test group.

Yamaha WX-021 MusicCast 20 Wireless Speaker, Alexa Voice Control, Black

Yamaha Audio Yamaha WX-021 20 MusicCast Wireless Speaker

by YAMAHA

MusicCast stereo/surround capable; Add a pair to a MusicCast surround capable AV receiver to provide wireless Surrounds for a 5.1 Channel home theater system

The Yamaha WX-021 MusicCast 20 Wireless Speaker is easy to set up and use. The MusicCast app is easy to navigate, and the speaker's voice-control features are easy to use. The speaker's battery life is decent, but it's shorter than that of the comparable Bose Soundbar 500, and it's shorter than that of most dedicated Bluetooth speakers (although, again, it's shorter than the Bose Soundbar 500). The WX-021 is loud enough to fill a medium-size room, and the audio is crisp, with a good range. The speaker's bass is weak, however, and the output isn't loud enough to fill the largest rooms. The MusicCast app doesn't let you customize a music list, and it's missing some key features, such as full-bleed mode, which lets the speaker play audio at a full volume even if audio equipment is running on the same power line. The Yamaha WX-021 is a decent choice for anyone who's looking for a wireless audio hub for their TV, computer, or two other MusicCast speakers, but it's less versatile, and it's less portable, than the Bose Soundbar 500.

Yamaha NS-AW350B All-Weather Indoor/Outdoor 2-Way Speakers - Black (Pair)

Yamaha Audio Yamaha NS-AW350B Indoor/Outdoor All-Weather 2-Way Speakers

by YAMAHA

Acoustic suspension design for clear sound and taut, controlled bass response

The Yamaha NS-AW350Bs are well made, durable, and (for a $200 speaker) offer very good sound quality. They're built to withstand the elements, too, so they're ideal for outdoor use. The speakers have a 6.50-inch woofer, a 1-inch tweeter, and dual 40-watt amplifiers, so they're loud. The tweeter sounds nice and bright, and the bass is deep, clear, and punchy. The speakers are compact and lightweight, so they're easy to move around. The NS-AW350Bs sound great outdoors, but they're not loud enough for our tastes indoors. The audio quality gets a little muddled at higher volumes, and we noticed that some of the bass frequencies became muddy. The speakers don't offer Bluetooth, but they do have RCA inputs, so you can connect them to an amplifier or receiver.
